Discount home retail store to open in Saco area

The Shops at Biddeford Crossing will be seeing the addition of a HomeGoods Store to its mix of big-box stores. Residents of nearby Saco who need accessories and other items for their homes will be interested in this store.

The store will be on Mariner Way in the same building as T.J. Max, Famous Footwear, and Target. Banner printing can be used at such sites to inform those in the area of such upcoming stores. Samantha Abbatessa, marketing supervisor for HomeGoods, said the store is looking for an assistant manager, and it will most likely be needing additional retail and other types of employees.

HomeGoods sells its items as 20 to 60 percent of the full price of many retailers. Among its items are wall art and decorative accessories, lighting, rugs, accent furniture, gourmet and kitchen cookware, seasonal décor, and bedding.

The store purchases its offerings from many vendors, including designers and top brands, as well as artisans from around the world. In addition, some merchandise is manufactured for the store so that fashion and other items can be sold at very affordable prices.

HomeGoods has over 820 stores across the country with locations in Bangor, Rockland, and Scarborough. It is a division of TJX companies, which also include Homesense, T.J. Maxx, and Marshalls.

The store is expected to open sometime this fall.
