Finestkind is now opened in Saco. Finestkind offers a specially crafted breakfast and lunch menu. It is in what was once the New Moon building in Pepperell Square.
Banner printing can be used at such new eateries to make residents and visitors aware of their special offerings.
Tom and Victoria Barthelmes operate the restaurant along with Paige and Chris Gould who are business partners. They all have extensive experience in the restaurant industry. The Barthelmes have worked at well-known restaurants in Manhattan while the Goulds own and operate Tipo and Central Provision in Portland.
The pastry chef is Kim Rodgers who has left BenReuben's Knishery in South Portland. Rodgers was also a co-founder of Little Spruce Baking Co. in Biddeford, and their products can be found in shops in both Biddeford and Saco.
Finestkind benefitted from two entrepreneurial initiatives in the city—the Façade Grant and the Samm Business Grant programs of the Economic Development Department of Saco.
The atmosphere of Finestkind is fresh and bright. It offers both counter service and outdoor seating. Among its offerings are cinnamon buns, smoked brisket sandwiches, a brown butter waffle, and fluffernutter cookies. Among the drink options are Maine Root Soda, Tandem Coffee Roaster espresso and drip coffee, and alcoholic drinks such as Bloody Mary’s, mimosas, and wine.
Shop hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday through Monday.
