Volunteers needed for 2017 Annapolis 10-Mile Run

The Annapolis Striders are looking for volunteers for their 42nd annual 10-Mile run through scenic Annapolis. Hundreds of volunteers will be needed to support this event hailed by Runners Magazine as one of the top ten in the country for races of this distance.

Runners are encouraged to register early to avoid price increases and compete in their chance to be the first to cross under the finish line banner. Participants will be competing for various special awards as well as age group awards.

The event is expecting large crowds so they will need hundreds of volunteers to make it a success. Volunteers will be provided with a 2017 Volunteer shirt. Family and friends are welcome to come with volunteers as well.

Organizers are also proud to support Green Initiatives by encouraging participants to be eco-friendly. Attendees are encouraged to recycle by using any of the recycling bins located at the race or bring their own plastic mug for the party following the run. Runners are also encouraged to carpool to the expo and run as well as drop off any extra safety pins they won’t be using.

The race will be held on Sunday, August 27th starting at 7:00am. It will begin at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium at 550 Taylor Avenue. The registration for the event includes parking near the start finish line for both the Expo on Saturday and the race on Sunday.
