Virtual Run Events is hosting International Happiness Day 1M, 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2 in Annapolis to value the pursuit of happiness around the world.
The United Nations has celebrated International Happiness Day since 2013, to emphasize the importance of joy in one’s life. Guests are invited to share the good feeling by donating to the All Hands and Hearts organization, a charity group recognized for its support of communities affected by natural disasters. The group is connected to local leaders and volunteers to make a direct impact on rebuilding schools and neighborhoods.
Official T-Shirts and hoodies are available for sale during the event in which registered participants will race in the virtual run, offering courses of varying distances. Winners will be awarded medals and bibs and can expect to receive them in the mail. This virtual race can be run or walked from anywhere, including on treadmills or at a practice track. Participants are called on to record their finish times regardless of their pacing.
It will cost $22 to join the virtual race, though the event donates 15% of funds to sponsored nonprofits. Participants can join the International Happiness Day race on Friday, March 20, at 7:00 pm in downtown Annapolis. Another session is being held on Tuesday, March 31. Flyer printing is ideal for raising awareness of any holiday celebrations in urban centers.
