Two-month festival to celebrate the fall

Known as the second largest Renaissance Fair in the country and attract many tourists, the Annapolis Renaissance Fair begins this month, giving many craftsman and artists a platform for selling their work.

The festival has pottery, wood furniture, jewelry, leather goods, silk, sculpture, glass work, musical instruments, stained glass, and wood working. This is in addition to food vendors selling the likes of crab cake sandwiches, hot apple dumplings, fresh seafood, fried cheese, meat or spinach pie, peanut butter pie, barbecued ribs, smoked turkey legs, fruit and ice cream.

Around 200 entertainers will be spread across stages depicting a 16th-Century English village during the time of King Henry VII and his court. There is a jousting area that holds 3,000 spectators, games, and complimentary parking, and weekend celebrations will carry specific themes.

The event attracts many business and leisure travelers. The Homestead Gardens Annual Fall Festival in nearby Davidsonville is the one of the largest in the region, offering many exciting activities rides, entertainment, demonstrations, special shows, and entertainment.

Guests can enjoy carnival rides, a two-acre straw maze for kids, pumpkin carving, pony rides, and a pumpkin patch where they pick their own pumpkins.
