News out of Annapolis reported that Maryland is ranked 11th for solar industry companies and installations in the nation, according to a recent study conducted by Oregon State and Michigan Technological Universities.

Solar energy is on the rise as many residents and businesses are doing their part to contain escalating costs. The ability for a company to promote itself grows when they can advertise they are an energy conscious businesses. They could even bring their conservation efforts to light through Promotional Products and Direct Mail printing.
Maryland alone has over 200 companies that employ approximately 4,000 people in the solar industry, and is one of a handful of states to have seen this rapid growth. The companies can easily cross-train with existing companies providing other sources of power to keep residents employed.
A program called Solar Ready Vets, which is run by the Solar Foundation, trains veterans for solar energy-related occupations.
As other states obtain the funding and research, solar energy will continue to grow throughout the nation. Case in point, Solar Energy Industries Association Vice President, Dan Whitten, announced that the United States has over a million solar installations and the organization expects the number of solar jobs will double.
