Schedule released for Annapolis seafood celebration

For over five decades, an Annapolis event has brought out everyone’s inner seafood fan, and this festival will once again be serving up fun.

The Maryland Seafood Festival celebrates seafood and the state’s fishing industry as well. This will be combined with a showcase of its musical and artistic talents, and the usual crowd-pleasers will be back along with some new additions.

The one-day event will see chefs put their skills to the test in the crab soup cook-off, and there will be other culinary demonstrations. The beer and oyster tent will be back, and the shellfish served will be supplied by a variety of local sources. Pre-season NFL football games will be screened, and everyone will learn some new ways to make use of invasive marine species.

Along with the rest of the excitement, people can sign up for the oyster shucking and crab cake eating competitions. A portion of the proceeds from this popular celebration will be passed along to local not-for-profit groups, making it a day filled with fun for a purpose. The venue is accessible to members of the public who require the use of a mobility device. A banner printing company will be pleased to prepare reusable decor for events that will return year after year.

This celebration of Maryland’s ties to the sea will be on offer on Saturday, September 15. Susan Campbell Park is set to be the venue for the day.
