Regatta to see vets set sail for fun

An event held in support of the area’s recovering warriors will soon be setting sail in Annapolis, remembering that disability should be no barrier to enjoying sailing.

The fundraiser, which has been dubbed the “Recovering Warrior Sailing Regatta” has been planned and organized by Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating (CRAB), and it will take full advantage of the usually pleasant early autumn weather. Those who register will be able to use one of the fully accessible sailboats and Hoyer Lifts that will be available.

The day will kick off with registration, and the regatta will take place in Sandy Point State Park. A barbeque lunch will be served, and it will offer both disabled vets and the general public an opportunity to see how, with a few adaptations, the disabled community can join in the fun. Anyone who has questions or concerns is asked to contact sarah@crabsailing.org.

One of the tasks often performed by the organizers of a function like this is ordering customized Letterheads and other Forms. These may be obtained from area Stationery printers along with a wide selection of Banners and their specially printed items.

The date for this year's recovering Warriors Sailing Regatta will be September 18. Its registration portal is now accepting applications from those who would like to get involved in the celebration.
