This holiday season, locals will be able to get into the spirit with confectionary and classic theater.
At the Chocolate Binge Festival vendors will fill West Street, consumers tasty chocolate delights, entertainment, and holiday shopping. A feature of the event is the lighting of the West Street Holiday Light Canopy.
The festival, which takes place December 3 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm, includes a giant gingerbread moon bounce that kids can enjoy. Activities for children are a giant snowball run, and a chance to roast s'mores and eat them at the fire pit. Organizations will be collecting toys for disadvantaged children, giving away hot chocolate, and making balloon animals.
The festival offers dozens of vendors and a wide variety of craft items, such as jewelry, pottery, candles, wood working, chocolate vendors, and pottery. There are two stages for entertainment.
Adding further to the seasonal merriment, the Colonial Players of Annapolis will be performing ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ from December 1 to 10. Taking place in the form of a live radio play, it is directed by Scott Nicholas and centers on the character of George Bailey, who wants to end his life one Christmas Eve due to financial troubles.
The Players’ 2018 season is now confirmed, with several new plays coming, including Quartet, Lucky Stiff, and Casa Valentina.
