Dates revealed for Annapolis lighthouse tours

The Annapolis Maritime Museum has announced the tour dates for this year’s Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse tours. These limited tours are held each summer and depart from the docks at the museum.

The Lighthouse was built in 1875 and is a National Historic Landmark. Often, landmarks like the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse, are the focus of Promotional Products that can be purchased as mementos of a visit or as a gift for others. Businesses can work with Print shops to obtain these items to hand out at company events as well.

The tours leave twice daily on the designated tour dates. Two hours long, they are led by an experienced guide who speaks about the history of the lighthouse, along with what the Coast Guard’s role is today. Half an hour of the tour time consists of the boat ride to and from the lighthouse.

Due to the physical requirements of touring the lighthouse, there is a minimum age requirement of 12 years old. Practical footwear needs to be worn and no Crocs, open-back shoes, flip-flops, or heels are allowed.

If weather conditions are not favorable, tours can be cancelled, so participants are advised to contact the museum prior to departure if unsure.

This year, the tour dates are June 8 and 15; July 6, 13 and 27; August 3, 17 and 31; September 7 and 28; and October 5th. Tickets are $80 per person and proceeds are used for restoration of the Lighthouse.
