Dates announced for 2017 sailing event

Entering into its 25th year, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has officially announce the dates for the 2017 Annapolis Leukemia Cup Sailing Regatta.

The event is an annual fundraiser that supports the LLS with funds for lifesaving research and patient treatment.

This year’s event has a fundraising goal of $250,000 over its full course. The event will kick off at the Annapolis Yacht Club with the Seersucker & Linen Summer Gala on June 2. The event will feature a silent auction, as well as a live auction for those attending. The auction is an opportunity for local businesses to provide donations showcasing their products and services; for example, a local printing company could provide a gift of Mailing services or marketing services. The event will be held from 6:30-9:30 pm.

Day two of the event, June 3, will feature the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association’s Sanctioned Regatta. The regatta begins and 10:00 am and will likely feature about 100 boats. Following the Regatta is an invitation-only ‘All Hands on Deck’ Cruise and Luncheon. The post-race party, which is open to the public, will be held at the same location, the Eastport Yacht Club, and will include food and entertainment for everyone.

Over the past 25 years that the event has been held, the LLS has raised approximately $60m nationally through the Leukemia Cup Campaign. The funds greatly benefit those affected by the diseases and their families.
