The Annapolis area has kicked off the 3rd annual CANnapolis food drive, which helps support local nonprofits in the fight against hunger.
During last summer’s event, CANnapolis served over 600 meals to Ann Arundel County residents and received over 3,000lb of food donations.
The event promoters, Katcef Brothers, Food Link, and WRNR Radio, likely have distributed dozens of Flyers to local businesses to raise awareness for the event. Events will be held in various locations throughout the summer, including Annapolis, Pasadena, and Severna Park. The events will run through August.
Researchers have found that over 10% of the area’s residents are unable to obtain the food they need for their families. Those making donations are assured that their donations will reach families and children who truly need the support.
Food Link, a local nonprofit that opened in 1991, focuses its efforts on relieving hunger for area residents. The agency helps thousands of residents yearly who have run out of other resources to support their family’s needs.
Residents can drop off their canned goods at the following locations on the dates listed: Dawson’s Liquors in Severna Park (July 8th), Bayridge Wine & Spirits and Annapolis Smokehouse & Tavern in Annapolis (July 22nd), Angel’s Food Market in Pasadena (August 6th), Fishpaws Marketplace in Arnold (August 19th), and Kegs and Corks Fest at Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds (August 20th)
