Those who have always wanted to give weaving a try but were unsure of how to get started are invited to learn the fundamentals of the craft during an online Annapolis workshop.
The class, which is for beginners, will use a variety of simple methods to teach the basics of weaving. The event is being held by ArtFarm. It is intended for adults, and it will use materials that can be easily found in area craft shops.
The learners will discover that weaving can be surprisingly easy, and the techniques may be used to craft everything from wall hangings and other decor to clothing. The students will be taught how to prepare a cardboard loom, along with at least three basic techniques. They will experiment with color and texture, and the session will wrap up with a discussion of how to clean up and finish their project.
The host of the activity has prepared a list of supplies that the attendees will be able to purchase along with their registration, or they can choose to pick them up on their own. Printed instructions and tip sheets are often valuable tools for those learning a new craft, and these can be prepared by Stationery printers in the local area.
ArtFarm will be welcoming those new to the world of weaving on February 11th. Registration can be completed by visiting its website.
