Annapolis to welcome return of floating light parade

The Eastport Yacht Club recently announced the return of one of its popular holiday activities, and anyone who would like to get involved may want to submit their request to participate now.

This Annapolis area club will once again be running its Light Parade spectacle, which has become a popular event over the years. The parenting sponsor for the celebration will be Long & Foster Real Estate’s Eastport Office, and the boats will be sailing by from Annapolis Harbor.

The boats taking part will all be decorated and brightly lit, and the crowd onshore can cheer them on as they go by. Its registration system will remain open until Tuesday, December 5. A mandatory Skipper’s Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 7, and more details will be provided at this time. When they apply, boat owners will be asked to provide some basic information, and they will need to supply a theme for their entry. Boats must have insurance to take part.

Holiday events may require special decor, and a local banner printing company can rise to the occasion. It can supply weatherproof options for use outdoors, and these may even be prepared so that they can be used more than once.

This floating holiday light parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 9. It will be setting sail at 6:00 pm.
