Annapolis restaurant serves creative comfort food

Kitchen on West, a new restaurant and part of the recently opened Hilton Garden Inn in Annapolis, has added breakfast, happy hour, and dinner to its services.

The restaurant has 14,000 square feet of dining indoors and outdoors. It is a casual style eatery and has a kids’ menu too.

Demtra Iyanda, the Food and Beverage Director, says that the restaurant serves creative comfort food, including a grilled cheese sandwich made with three type of cheeses, bacon, and berry compote. Another dish, called Eggs Chesaspeake, uses crab cakes in place of Canadian bacon.

The restaurant is designed to be trendy and casual at the same time. It has a full service bar that serves wine, beer, and cocktails, as well as martinis with unique flavors of Godiva chocolate and blueberry, and basil. Happy hour is 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Iyanda has 20 years of experience in institutional food service and hospitality, and says she focuses on the customer experience and the quality of the food served. The restaurant has a staff of 20 people.

The hotel and restaurant is owned by OTO Development, which is part of the Johnson Group. Now completely renovated, it is located at 173 West Street.
