Annapolis makes plans to welcome special holiday guest

Community holiday celebrations may need to be a little bit different in 2020, but Annapolis has risen to the occasion.

The city will once again be hosting a visit from Santa, but this year, instead of the traditional breakfast, the Big Guy in Red will be the guest of honor for a drive-by giveaway, and it is intended for kids from new-borns up to 11 years old.

Any families that would like to be part of this celebration will need to register ahead of time, and an email address must be supplied. Local businesses and the general public can help to make this activity even more special by making either a monetary contribution or by donating a new toy. These will be distributed to the children, and each child will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Hosting a public event like this gives a community an opportunity to bring some holiday cheer, and festive decor for the occasion can be obtained from area banner printing companies. These can be prepared using a variety of materials and range in style from single-use items, to ones made to be used over and over.

Santa’s Drive By Giveaway will be delighting Annapolis kids on December 19, taking place at the “Pip” Moyer Recreation Center. Children need to be registered no later than November 16.
