This year’s the Military Bowl and Parade will take place in the week between Christmas Day and New Year.
The football games will be held at the Navy Marine Memorial Stadium. Sponsored by the Northrop Grumman Corporation, the proceeds for this event benefit the local USO.
The Military Bowl Parade this year starts off at 9:30 am on December 28 at the City Docks. There is free admission to the parade, leading which will be the Budweiser Clydesdales. Many of the college champion teams will be among those marching.
The parade lasts an hour and a half, and has musical groups, civic organizations, and youth groups marching too.
The Tailgate Party will be open in the Blue Lot at 9:00, offering food and beverages available from local restaurants. Activities include military games, face painting, prizes, and musical entertainment.
Complimentary tickets to the game are distributed to military personnel and their families. The football games will begin about 1:30 pm at the stadium, and are televised by ESPN.
Parking is available for the game at the stadium by paying in advance. Overflow parking can be found at Germantown Elementary School, Phoenix Academy School, and Old Phoenix.
