A speech and language screening can be a helpful tool for families, and this service will be available for West Roxbury parents on selected dates this summer.
The team at Scaffold is offering several timeslots for parents or guardians who would like to have their child’s hearing and speech evaluated. Each session will take between 15 and 20 minutes to complete, and there are three dates available.
The facilitators for the activity will evaluate each child using play-based methods, and if any problems are found, there will be a consultation with the parents to decide what the next steps should be. This can help to give a young person a good foundation for literacy development.
At the time of writing, both morning and afternoon timeslots were available. The screening is free of charge, and an application form is available on the company’s website.
