Fitchburg clinic to help keep its pets safe
While many may think of rabies as being a thing of the past, this viral disease is still out there, and an upcoming clinic will help to keep Fitchburg pets and people safe.
The Fitchburg Fire Department will serve as the location for a microchip and vaccine clinic being offered thanks to the co-operative efforts of several not-for-profit groups. It will be open throughout the morning of its scheduled date, and advance online registration and payment are highly recommended to secure a spot.
The activity will see cats and dogs get their rabies vaccine and be microchipped so it will be easy for them to get home should they ever become lost. Distemper and parvo shots will also be available, and these will be free. The cost for the rabies vaccine is $18 and a $22 fee will be applied for the microchipping service. The staff on hand will take the pets inside so as many can be served as possible.
A low-cost pet health clinic can help to ensure a community’s companion animals are well cared for. Registration forms, flyer printing services, and other marking assistance will be available at area printers.
This morning of microchipping and vaccinations will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday, October 1. Spots can be booked between then and 12:00 pm.
