Fitchburg area farm to celebrate maple syrup season
The warmer days and cool nights as winter moves into spring mean that the maple sap is running, and a Fitchburg area farm will be taking full advantage of the bounty this weekend.
March is Maple Season for Hollis Hills Farm, and it will be opening its sugar house and hosting activities in honor of the occasion. It will offer a sneak peek into how syrup and other products crafted from maple sap are made, with other fun on the schedule as well.
The farm will be scheduling open house visits to its sugar shack, and here, the guests can see the process of boiling down the sap to remove the water and concentrate the sugars.
