New institute introduced at college in Beverly

A new Applied Behavioral Science Institute has been launched by Endicott College in Beverly. It will host the applied behavior analysis (ABA) program of the college, which has been run under the Van Loan School and the School of Education.

Mary Jane Weiss, Director of the Ph.D. ABA program and Dean of the Institute for Applied Behavioral Science, said that this will introduce students to the areas of behavioral analysis, and train students in the growing fields of treatment and study. It will focus on special education and autism intervention with a broad, multidisciplinary scope. Such colleges often look to local Print shops to help with promoting any new programs and their benefits for students.

Steven R. DiSalvo, president of Endicott College, said the new institute will enable the college to expand its offerings to meet the needs of society. He added that graduates from the college with knowledge of the behavioral sciences will be in the position to treat patients, conduct research, and contribute to this ever-growing field.

Endicott currently offers masters and doctoral degrees in ABA and an ABA certification. A minor in ABA at the undergraduate level will relaunch in September and be aligned with the Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst credential at the bachelor’s level. Weiss said that the undergraduate minor will enable students to pursue graduate level courses or add to their skillset to increase their marketability.
