Beverly walking workshop to explore groundcover plants

Groundcovers can be a viable alternative to grasses, fill in garden spaces, and also look beautiful in their own right, and they will be the topic of an upcoming Beverly walk and talk.

The Choice Groundcover Garden Walk will be led by senior horticulturist Dan Bouchard, and he will be introducing attendees to the uses and benefits of these low-growing plants. Both home gardeners and those who simply enjoy learning about flora are welcome, and pre-registration is mandatory.

During the walk, Bouchard will discuss both native and non-native groundcovers, pointing out their different attributes and where they tend to grow best. He will explain how they can be used for different purposes and how each species will have its own spread. The registrants will meet up at the venue’s greenhouse before they head out, and it will run for two hours.

Whether they are a serious home horticulturist or just like to do it here and there, local green-fingered folk may appreciate the chance to gather some new skills and knowledge. Handouts for a walking workshop or other activity can be prepared by Stationery printers, which will also be able to offer Letterheads and other custom documents.

This introduction to the world of groundcover plants will be taking place on Wednesday, June 26 at Long Hill. Tickets start at $15 for members and $25 for non-members.
