Beverly natives look to raise funds for animal shelter

A charity has been created by two friends and natives of Beverly, Jess Morse, and Tayla Bagley, to raise money for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and the local non-profit, Friends Of Beverly Animals (FOBA).

The goal of the non-profit, Paws for a Cause, is to raise money for an animal shelter in the city. Currently, Beverly Animal Control does not have a place for keeping stray or animals for any length of time and cats, for one, typically find themselves in the care of the FOBA. The FOBA is comprised of individuals who live in and around Beverly and take in strays as foster pets until they can find a forever home. Multiple cats are now in the homes of several members of the organization.

Morse and Bagley right now are looking to raise $5,000 from the community towards the shelter. In the long term, they would like to be able to advocate for homeless pets on a state-wide and national level.

Banner printing companies are often used to support such efforts, meaning displays can be created to be posted throughout the community and more people learn about such fundraising goals.

The next major fundraiser for FOBA will be a 5K Race and Walk to be held on the campus of Endicott College on May 30.
