Earlier this month, the Beverly Council on Aging held one of its game nights for the month, where eight seniors challenged eight students from Endicott College to a few rounds classic games as they enjoyed food.
Game nights are held twice a month through December, and encourage connections among the various generations in the community. The likes of Chinese checkers, dominoes, cribbage, Scrabble, chess, and Trivial Pursuit are played amid engaging conversation.
Elizabeth Grassin was one of the seniors who was winning every game of Chinese checkers she played against Nikki Dunham, also an intern at the Council on Aging. Grassin learned to play the game when she was a child from her grandmother, and was now teaching Dunham how to play.
Other Council on Aging members who attended the game night were Nancy Kadlick, playing Scrabble with Allesandro Calzone from Endicott College, and Cynthia Potter, who is also a member of the Council. Meanwhile, fellow Council members Eric Swanson and Brain Strong from Endicott competed against Vinnie Cavanaugh and Zac Poland from Endicott in a game of cribbage.
Council members joked that their favorite part of the evening was the food, but commented more seriously that they enjoyed meeting new people, especially those from the younger generation.
Most likely, the Council uses various Forms of printing services to announce such events to its members and the community.Get a Free Quote for Forms
