Pam Teller is opening a Nothing Bundt Cakes in Florence this spring, which will be Northern Kentucky’s first location and will join the Greater Cincinnati area’s two other locations.
The Nothing Bundt Cakes franchise is built on its nostalgic-yet-modern bundt cakes. More of a take-out rather than a sit-down operation, the bakery’s customers can either come in and select from the cakes on hand or order in advance to ensure their preference is available.
Teller spent more than a year searching for the ideal spot, which turned out to be on Houston Road fronting Best Buy and Meijer. The Florence location at around 1,600 square feet is a little smaller than the chain’s average location.
Florence’s demographics, fast growth rate and corporate opportunities were why Teller chose the city. Moreover, weddings play a significant role in the company’s business model, making nearby Erlanger and Covington’s abundance of wedding venues is a bonus.
Nothing Bundt Cakes come in nine signature flavors, some available every day while others only on a rotating basis. Cakes come in 10- and 8-inch sizes as well as bundlets, individual cakes; and bite-size cakes called bundtinis, which are sold by the dozen.
Commonly, new food-based businesses will use a flyer printing service to begin building their clientele.
The Florence location will make Teller’s third Nothing Bundt Cake location; the other two are in Tennessee. Teller anticipates the new bakery being operational by late March or early April.
