Retirement planning taught at upcoming seminar

Retirees will be able to get expert advice at a seminar planned just for them.

This is a seminar that is based on Expedition Retirement, which is a television and radio show. Printing services are often used to prepare for events.

In this seminar, retiring is thought of as going on a mountain climb. While accumulating wealth in one's career is like climbing to the top, managing finances in retirement is the descent. Each part of the journey requires different skills and planning. One of the seminar’s focus areas will be the need to have a Retirement Planner who knows about the specific risks of retirement as opposed to only depending on the financial advisor who was there during the wealth accumulation stage.

The speakers will discuss the four main risks called “boulders” that retirees encounter. The first risk relates to taxation; specifically how after someone has died, tax obligations can increase for their spouse or children. Next comes market volatility and portfolio adjustments during retirement which many times do not get attention from financial advisors. The third risk has to do with secret charges imposed by financial advisors and other investment plans which cut down pension savings bit by bit over time. Lastly, there is the issue of long-term medical or hospice care whose charges may be more than $120,000 each year.

The dinner seminar on retirement planning is scheduled for October 15th at the Boone Links Banquet Center in Florence.
