Lease extension keeps Worldwide, Southern Air in Florence

Southern Air and Worldwide Air Logistics Group announced on September 4 that they would be extending their lease at the Turfway Ridge Office Park, thereby keeping their Northern Kentucky headquarters in Florence.

The length of their new lease and other details were not made available at the time of the announcement. However, the chief executive officer of Worldwide, Dan McHugh, said:

“With its excellent workforce, quality of life, and exceptional business climate, the commonwealth has been a terrific partner for us since we relocated to Kentucky two years ago.

"Our renewed commitment to the Northern Kentucky area will allow us to further build upon on our strong partnership with the community and continue to support DHL Express at its main U.S. hub at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.”

It looks like executives and members of the management team need not hesitate to order to ask their business card printing services to supply them with the economy size order of cards. McHugh’s words, along with the 10-year contract extension that Southern Air agreed to with DHL Express in 2014, would seem to indicate that the headquarters will be in Florence for quite some time.

Worldwide uses a variety of air carrier companies to provide air cargo services. Southern Air with its fleet of 737 and 777 Boeing freighters provides DHL Express with airlift services for transporting cargo around the world.
