Florence golf raises funds for special education

A golf tournament plans to raise funds for individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges.

The event is especially for students at The Point Arc's Zembrodt Education Center. Money from this event will help pay for their tuition, activities like field trips or parties, special events, and even vacations. Participants in the outing will have their contributions directly support and improve the educational and social experiences of these students.

Teams of four are being requested to join in on a day filled with friendly competition. The event begins with a 1:30 pm shotgun start and includes different activities such as raffle prizes, split-the-pot raffle, silent auction, and competitions at difficult holes. Every team pays an entry fee of $440 or $110 per golfer which covers more than just playing the round of golf. It includes benefits like having one team golf cart for every group, three drink vouchers for each player, a golf polo shirt, and a dinner buffet to end the day.

For people who are not playing golf but want to help, they can buy dinner tickets for $30. These tickets let them enter the buffet and get one drink voucher. Printing services can be used to promote sponsors at such events.

The 5th Annual What A Day Golf Outing is on September 21st. It will be at the Boone Links Golf Course in Florence.
