What's Happening in Florence, KY…

Florence facility to offer medication review sessions

A Florence initiative will help pharmacies connect with the public, and show themselves to be a valuable part of an individual’s healthcare team.

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is currently allocating timeslots for a morning that will give members of the public who have questions or concerns about their medications an opportunity to meet with a pharmacist or pharmacist intern face to face. It is free to take advantage of the opportunity, although walk-ins will not be permitted.

When they meet with the pharmacist, each registrant will be able to review the medications they take and learn more about them, including their benefits, risks, and any possible interactions. They can discuss their concerns and make sure they are a good fit for them. Those who sign up are asked to bring along any medicines they take, including vitamins and herbal preparations. They will be able to ask questions, and receive professional tips and advice.

Attending information sessions is one way people can be proactive when it comes to their health. A brochure printing company will be happy to supply learning materials for an activity along with a selection of promotional products.

St. Elizabeth Healthcare has scheduled this medication review morning for August 11, and spaces are available from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. It will be held in the building’s lower level conference room.
