Firefighters organize softball tournament

Fire departments in the region are requested to form baseball teams and take part in a tournament for a cause.

Taking place over two days, a highly competitive softball tournament will double up as a charity fundraiser. The teams are working to gather funds for EJ's Promise, a charitable cause that has been selected by the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 4521.

Teams in the tournament can be formed by fire department members or people who are connected with public service. There is an entry fee of $450 for each team and registration works on a first come, first served system. Sports teams tend to have the Logo Design of their sponsors printed on their jerseys at this sort of even.

Every game will have seven innings, with no fresh innings starting after an hour and 30 minutes of play. The type of the match is slow-pitch, and it includes 10 players on the field in a single-elimination set-up. On the first day, there will be six games, while five games will be played on the second. The team that makes the most runs will get a bye.

The Northern Kentucky Burnout Derby - IAFF 4521 Charity Softball Tournament is set to take place at Florence Y'alls Stadium from September 14 at 10 AM to September 15 at 9:00 PM.
