Overland Park will be the site of the 2019 Quilt Festival. The annual show will feature music, appetizers, vendor shopping, exhibits, classes, and a silent auction.
The auction will include quilt sales with proceeds benefiting the local nonprofit agencies of Once We Were Refugees and The Sewing Labs. The learning center at The Sewing Labs is partnered with volunteers, donors, and businesses, with each providing educational opportunities. The entity teaches both adults and children and offers inspiration to use their creative talents.
Refugee arrivals into the country often use the services of Once We Were Refugees to learn use of their skills to help with supporting themselves in a new life. Donations from fundraisers are essential in providing ongoing assistance.
The festival is managed by quilt guilds in Overland Park and other areas within the state. Over 18 guilds patriciate with the addition of the Kansas Capital Quilters and Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild, two new participating entities this year.
When exhibits are part of a festival, the vendors often use printing services in preparation for the event. Business card printing ensures amply supply to give out to visitors with information.
The quilt festival will take place June 13 to 15 at the Overland Park Convention Center. Class registration and festival passes are available for sale. Visit the event website for more details.
