Overland Park class to prepare festive holiday treats
Anyone from Overland Park who plans on doing some entertaining this holiday season may want to be part of a cookery class that will help them wow their guests.
The Culinary Center of Kansas has scheduled a class that will introduce the art of preparing French-style macarons. The learners will spend four hours perfecting their techniques, and the session will be led by a trained pastry chef.
The participants in the workshop will be taught the Italian meringue method, and the finished cookies will be sandwiched together with flavored buttercream. The students will all go home with some cookies to keep or share, as well as a printed recipe so they can make more on their own. Advance registration is mandatory to participate in the activity, and it will be offered as a hands-on experience. Safe food handling practice will be followed, and the class is just one of many the host has on offer.
As it teaches new skills, a cookery class may be both fun and functional for those who participate. Printed recipe cards, as well as aprons and other corporate gifts printed with a company’s logo design, can be ordered from an area printer.
