Overland Park class to introduce festive French cookery
Overland Park will soon be treated to a meal that will transport guests to a table at a bistro in France, all without having to leave their own hometown.
Chef Gary Hild will be pulling out all the stops for a demonstration class and dinner that will explore how food has become a part of many traditional French holiday celebrations. The function will recreate the ambiance of a small Paris eatery, and everyone who participates will learn how they can make the dishes in their own kitchen.
To create a special atmosphere, music will be playing, and there will be wait staff on hand. Coq a Vin will be on the menu, as will rice pilaf, salmon in puff pastry, mushroom duxelles, and ratatouille. Cherries Jubilee will round out the meal, and the organizers explained that it may be a fun date night idea, or even a way for a business to thank their top patrons or clients.
Cookery classes make it easier for the public to prepare restaurant-style fare at home. Copies if the recipes used can be printed and laminated by a business card printing company to hand out to the participants so they will be able to get cooking in their own kitchen.
The Culinary Center of Kansas City, which is located at 7920 Santa Fe Drive in Overland Park, will be offering this evening out on Monday, December 6. Ticket holders are asked to arrive by no later than 7:30 pm.
