Overland Park area tour to explore local gardens
The Overland Park area is home to some of the state’s top private gardens, and during an upcoming event, they will open their gates to the public for a special tour.
While the biennial Johnson County Master Gardeners’ Garden Tour may have been cancelled in 2020, it is set to make its return this year. It will include five properties as well as a boutique, and mask and social distancing practices will be in place at each stop.
The ticket holders for the function will be able to spend time at each property, asking questions and gathering inspiration at each one. Paper tickets will not be issued, but people will still be able to print them off at home if they wish. They will also receive details about each of the gardens they will be visiting, and fact sheets about some of the more popular species they see will be shared as well.
Offering the public an opportunity to add to their horticultural knowledge is one way an organization can help to support the gardening public. Supplying them with pamphlets that offer tips for plant care and selection may also prove helpful, and these can be sourced from local brochure printing companies.
