New beginnings with Naka-Kon
A three-day convention presented by Naka-Kon will take place at the Overland Park Convention Center. The event celebrates manga, anime, music fashion and cosplay. Each year the convention features voice actors, artists, designers and film industry professionals and experts.
Panels of guests will be part of the agenda. Cosplay competitions and contests will add to the fun as attendees are welcome to participate. This will give everyone an opportunity to learn about music, anime and manga industries.
Naka-Kon began 15 years ago and has evolved into a 501(c)3 non-profit entity. The organization has established a scholarship program benefitting local residents interested in Japanese studies. Two awards of $2000.00 will be granted.
Springing into a new year, Naka-Kon has a robust line-up for the convention. Some of the prestigious guests include Satomi Akesaka, voice actress from Japan; Aya Kamiki, award winning singer, model and actress and Amelie Belcher, award winning artist, comic creator and painter.
Sponsors include RightSufAnime.com, Funimation Now, Hidive, Sentai Filmworks, and Tick Tock Escape Rooms.
Local printing services are available for banner printing and graphic design for events of this type. Organizers frequently work with local print shops in preparation for large conventions.
The 2019 Naka-Kon will take place on March 15-17 at the Overland Park Convention Center and Overland Park Sheraton Hotel. More information is available via the online event website.
