Schererville event to celebrate popular franchise

A Schererville event taking place in a few weeks is celebrating a widely enjoyed multi-media franchise.

Pokémon Party in the Park will be putting the spotlight on one character in particular, as the theme is The Year of Eevee.

Entertainment will include a sing-along, DJ, airbrush tattoo artist, food trucks, vendors, and a giveaway of Pokémon cards.

Guests can take part in a Pokémon Go Tournament, one of three costume competitions (Pokémon, Trainer, and Team Rocket), and battles or trades with fellow attendees.

The event will also have an outdoor showing of Pokémon: The First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back! bringing a relaxing close to the evening.

Pokémon is a brand that started with video games and animation projects, with the now iconic trading card game launching in the USA in 1999. The range of products with the brand attached has continued to expand over the years, going into categories such as home goods, clothing, plush, and Books. With hundreds of characters to discover, the franchise has remained popular around the world ever since. Popular characters include the likes of Bulbasaur, Pikachu, Snorlax, Squirtle, Charmander, Psyduck, Jigglypuff, and Ditto.

Attending the Schererville celebration comes with no admission cost. The venue is Redar Park. Flyer printing is a common selection as an advertisement method for many locally crafted events. The party will run between 5:00 pm and 10:30 pm on October 3.
