A late November event in Schererville is providing the residents with a chance to become a piece of the city’s festive display.
The Holiday Trees Downtown & Tree Lighting Ceremony is an event that allows charities, businesses, organizations, families, and individuals from the Schererville area to sponsor one of the trees that is placed at the city’s town hall.
Eight of these sponsors will be able to have their tree placed in the best locations, as well as a bigger sign for them to place their names on. Both sets of sponsors will be given a tree that is six feet tall, with a sign. It is their job to decorate them. Everyone will also be responsible for collecting their decorations once the display season is done.
The cost for sponsorship is $125 for the Jingle Bells, and $225 for one of the eight Silver Bells. Purchases are available through the Schererville Chamber of Commerce’s website.
The trees will be on display from the date of the lighting ceremony, November 28th, to January 7th. For the lighting ceremony, every sponsor and attendee must bring a toy which is not wrapped. This will act as their admission to the lighting, and the collection will be donated to the cause known as Toys for Tots. Flyer printing is a popular form of advertisement for many cities with holiday festivities. The ceremony will be taking place between 6:00pm and 7:00pm.
