Schererville residents who love a good bike ride have a chance to raise money for charity while enjoying one, as locals have organized a bike fundraiser traveling through Munster, Highland, and Griffith.
Munster-Highland Tri Kappa Charities and Scholarships has scheduled the 2025 Bicycle Poker Run for early September. The jaunt will take riders by eight local breweries and coffee houses where they will collect cards for a winning poker hand. The ride will depart from Fuzzyline Brewing Company in Highland and will visit seven other establishments along the route. Players submit cards at 2:30 PM, and the top three hands win prizes. Signage at races often utilizes banner printing and other Graphic Design Services.
Tri Kappa is a charitable organization founded in 1901 by a group of women attending the Girls’ Classical School in Indianapolis. It grew slowly over the years but was able to fund its first scholarship in 1913. Tri Kappa now has 142 active chapters throughout Indiana and boasts nearly 8,000 members.
The 2025 Bicycle Poker Run will be held on Sunday, September 7, with the race beginning at 11:00 AM. Riders should check in at 2712 Condit Street in Highland between 10:00 and 11:00. The race formally ends at 3:00 PM. The registration fee is $30, or $45 to include a commemorative T-shirt. Tickets may be purchased at either the Munster-Highland Tri Kappa Facebook page or the Eventbrite page for the Poker Run.
