A late January event is giving Schererville residents a chance to unleash their creativity and celebrate an upcoming holiday.
Sally and Jack’s Valentine Polaroid is a painting activity by Cocktails & Canvas. Attendees will get to create a beautiful image of the happy couple from Nightmare Before Christmas in the center of a photograph, with some classic phrases associated with Valentine's Day written across the base.
Each painter can decide whether they want an outline of Sally and Jack on their canvas at the start of the class, or if they would like to begin with a blank slate. An instructor will take the group through each of the steps needed to finish the piece. However, the atmosphere of the class will be a relaxed and stress-free one.
The venue will be the Three Monkeys Pub, which is located in the nearby town of Crown Point. Drinks and food are not included in the ticket price, but attendees are encouraged to support the venue.
Tickets are sold through Eventbrite and the C&C website. The price per person is $40. Anyone buying tickets for a group is asked to provide names of everyone via an email, in order to make sure everyone can be seated with each other. Guests are asked to either use a taxi or rideshare service, or have a designated driver in order to ensure safety once the event is over. Flyer printing is a common promotion technique for art experiences.
The event takes place on Tuesday, January 28 between 6:00pm and 8:00pm.
