Gardening can sometimes be an expensive hobby, but thanks to an area event, it may not have to be for Portage area green thumbs.
Hobart’s Deep River County Park will be helping local communities to get a jump start on the upcoming spring planting season by hosting a plant swap. Ther i's no registration required, and everyone who has plants they would like to share is encouraged to stop by.
To take part in the exchange, all members of the public need to do is to pot up their extra springtime perennial divisions and any others they had potted up and grown on. They can then bring them to the parking lot at the park, and there, they will meet other gardeners and swap their plants for new ones. There's no cost to do so.
Events that bring those who share a common interest together often benefit from some light marketing, and a flyer printing company will be able to help. It will have a variety of inexpensive options available to a not-for-profit group.
The Lake County Park Spring Plant Swap will be presenting this opportunity for area gardeners to score some new perennials at no cost will be held on April 16. It will begin at 12:00 pm, and it is expected to be quite busy.
