Portage residents contribute to local food drive

A Portage community service group is undertaking a project this winter holiday season that it hopes will ensure everyone has a well-stocked table.

The Portage Youth Commission Holiday Food Drive is running from mid-November until Mid-December, and everyone has been asked to be as generous as they can when they supply their contribution. To make it easy and convenient to do so, a collection point has been set up, and all help will be appreciated.

Those who would like to drop off a contribution will be able to do so at the "donation station" set up at Portage City Hall. It's been requested that the foodstuffs and other items be non-perishable, and every box, bag or can will make an impact. The venue is open during its regular business hours, which run from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm on weekdays excluding holidays, and it's located at 6070 Central Avenue.

Stuff-the-bus or bag, drop off Boxes and other donation drives give area residents an opportunity to offer a helping hand to their neighbors in need, and can be part of building a strong community. A flyer printing company can create materials that encourage the public to get involved in community events like these.

The Portage Youth Commission Holiday Food Drive’s schedule runs from November 12th until December 12th. More details for anyone interested are available on the city's website.
