Portage to kick off fall festival season

When summer transitions to fall, Portage will be celebrating the season with a special community event.

The city's annual Harvest Festival will get autumn in full flow with a full day of fun. Held at Harvest Square, it will introduce locals and visitors to the crafters and mobile food service providers that call the area home.

The plans for the day include a pop-up crafters’ market that features items made in the local area, and live music will provide a festive background for the occasion. A beer garden is in the works, and everyone can pay a visit to the food trucks when it is time for a bite to eat. Baked goods can be purchased too, and some guests may want to take the opportunity to stock up for the fall holidays.

The organizers of the festival have issued a call seeking vendors to take part. Food trucks and other mobile eateries in the market for a new look may find that vehicle wraps, which can be prepared and installed by Print shops, can help them to stand out from the crowd.

Portage’s annual Harvest festival will bring the fun to the community on Saturday, September 26, kicking off at 11:00 am. A vendor application form has been prepared and may be accessed through the community’s website.
