New hotel opens in Indianapoliss near-Northside neighborhood
The near-Northside neighborhood of Indianapolis is enjoying a process of revitalization as new projects open. One of these is a new Sleep Inn hotel, which is located on West 16th Street, close to the old Bush Stadium.
The hotel, which comprises 91 rooms and is four stories tall, welcomed guests who were in the city for the Indianapolis 500, though the official opening wasn’t until June 2nd. Bush Stadium itself, which is just west of the Sleep Inn, was recently renovated and now comprises high-end apartments.
The hotel’s amenities include a fitness center, an indoor pool, a banquet hall that will hold 225 people, and a meeting room with a capacity of 35 persons. Kasha Burlington, sales and event manager for the facility, said a restaurant featuring international cuisine will open in the Sleep Inn sometime this summer.
She added that the location of the hotel will give its guests easy access to Indianapolis’ downtown area, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), and the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where the 500 is held each year.
Sleep Inn management might consider working with a flyer printing company to create handouts to be distributed near the hotel during the first weeks of its operation. The flyers could include a coupon for discounts for a night’s stay, drawing new patrons to the establishment.
