Indianapolis literary festival offers 'pages' of fun
Indianapolis will host Proof: A Midwest Lit Fest this October for any writers, readers, or bookworms looking for some literary fun this fall.
Hosted by the Indiana Humanities, the festival will celebrate the Midwest’s love of writing and the literary influence that the Midwest has had on the rest of the literary world. It was founded by local poets Chantel Massey and Mitchell L.H. Douglas by working in collaboration with the Indiana Humanities.
At the festival, attendees will enjoy a book fair with books from local booksellers, local and regional author readings, writing workshops, meet-ups with publishers and literary agents, as well as food, drinks, music, and activities for the whole family. The event will also be a chance for local writers to flex their writing muscles and receive feedback from more experienced writers and like-minded peers.
Libraries and local bookstores may be ideal spaces in which to advertise for festivals like this, with organizers reaching out to local flyer printing services to print out flyers that they can then distribute in such locations.
The Proof Fest will take place on October 5 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. It will be held at Harrison Center for the Arts, which is located at 1505 North Delaware Street. There is no cost to attend, although organizers recommend registering to keep an accurate attendee count.
