Animal professionals gather at Indianapolis conference

The 2026 Indiana Animal Welfare Conference will be held in Indianapolis this April to discuss how to further improve the lives of animals throughout the state.

The conference is presented by Pet Friendly Services of Indiana, which is the only statewide animal welfare organization in Indiana whose main mission is to end the euthanasia of cats and dogs. The organization began as a spay and neuter service that offered low-cost spay and neuter services to limited income pet owners in central Indiana. Now, the group has expanded to working with shelters, rescue groups, and pet owners across the state.

The animal welfare conference in April will be open to welfare professionals and volunteers alike. The event will span two days had will provide attendees with valuable knowledge and insights on how to strengthen the animal welfare community and actively improve the lives of animals. There will be three learning tracks: shelter and rescue operations, leadership and strategic planning, and veterinary and shelter medicine.
