Indianapolis workshop to offer free drum lessons
Indianapolis aspiring musicians should note that Billboard Top 40 recording artist Travis Brant will present a free drum set workshop this July.
Travis Brant is co-founder of the band Axion Radio and is known for his composing and drumming skills. Travis will use his experience in the music industry and his work on stage to offer a workshop that is interactive and immersive. The drum set workshop will be in-person and suitable for all levels from beginner to advanced. It will allow students to have a hands-on experience to increase their comfort level with the drums and how they are played.
The workshop will go over the fundamentals of drumming, how a drummer fits into the dynamics of a band, and how to succeed in the music business. Discussion topics include applying these fundamentals, learning groove construction, rhythm section roles, soloing and abstract concepts, effective practice habits, and music career building.
In-depth workshops like this may benefit from having students refer to how-to pamphlets and brochures, which local print shops specializing in brochure printing and similar services can help organizers to print.
The drum set workshop is scheduled to take place on July 16 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. It will be held at Round Table Recording Company, which is located at 6345 Carrollton Avenue. There is no cost to attend.
