Indianapolis to race through time at half-marathon event
This January, the Bodies Race Company (BRB) will host the Time Travel Half-Marathon in Indianapolis should any runners who are also sci-fi fans wish to participate.
Bodies Race Company began in 2011 in Kansas City to promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyles in the community by hosting high-quality, fun, and affordable events that get participants off the couch. The races that are hosted typically follow a fun theme, with this year’s revolving around time travel and cowboy myths.
The event will not only feature a half marathon, but it will also include a 10K, 5K, and 1-mile fun run. The race courses sectioned off by BRB will go through local parks to minimize disruption to the local community. All participants will receive a bib, themed T-shirt, and finisher medal, with the exception of the 1-mile fun run where participants will receive a challenge pin instead of medal. The event will also feature award ceremonies, vendors, swag items, and an after party.
Events offering swag items will often partner with local businesses interested in donating promotional products in exchange for free advertising.
The Time Travel Half-Marathon will take place on Saturday, January 18. The starting/finishing line will begin and end at Indianapolis Zoo Parking Lot, which is located at 1200 W Washington Street. The price of registration depends on what kind of racing bundle is bought, ranging from $15 to $275.
