Santa Run for Kids returns to McHenry
McHenry County’s Santa Run for Kids will return after going virtual last year. It will be held in Crystal Lake, but locals from McHenry can also attend.
The event is a fundraiser that helps support several charities. Proceeds will go towards non-profit organizations that help children who are in need. Anyone interested in helping can also leave a donation.
Participants can sign up for either the 5K or one-mile event. Everyone has the option to either walk or run the course, and each runner will also receive a Santa suit to wear during the event. Each runner can also purchase an additional shirt to help commemorate the event. Top runners of their age group will also receive awards. These items are often made with the help of local printing services.
Like last year’s event, there is a virtual option for 2021’s run. Virtual participants can run their own planned course anytime between November 30 and December 7.
Santa Run for Kids will take place on December 5th. Registration will start at 7:30 AM, and the races will begin at 9:00 AM. Registration for the event is $15 and $38 for the one-mile run and 5K race respectively. Race shirt purchases are $8, with another $15 for each extra purchase. The location for the race is still yet to be decided.
