Ryan Harding takes council seat
The McHenry City Council will be welcoming a brand new member.
The council's next meeting is scheduled for 6th January, and Ryan Harding, who just won the appointment to take up the 4th Ward seat, will be making his first appearance as a member of the council at this meeting. A resident of McHenry, Harding is a realtor working with Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group. He also works as a paramedic and firefighter.
The recommendation to plump for Harding came straight from the Mayor. Bobbi Baehne was the 4th Ward’s previous Alderman, however she was forced to resign after her family moved out of the 4th Ward's boundaries.
Harding was happy to apply for the seat and feels that he is right for the position because he has spend over 40 years living in McHenry. He likes the direction of the city and welcomes the opportunity to help it achieve its goals. One of Harding’s priorities now that he has the seat is working on the Main Street strip in the downtown area.
When asked about the redevelopment of Main Street, Harding said:
“I want to promote business in that area of town and promote business on the west side of town, from Route 120 on. I want to move forward with a lot of ideas that have been in place since before I was nominated.”
Using promotional products is an effective way of promoting business in an area at times of change like this.
