What's Happening in McHenry, IL…

Red Cross will provide CPR lessons in McHenry

The Red Cross will be teaching a course on CPR and first aid for McHenry residents.

The course is designed to teach entrants how to approach situations that involve breathing or cardiac emergencies, or that require first aid. Participants will complete the course in two segments. The first is an online section where entrants will partake in a virtual simulation of real-life emergencies. This exercise will prepare participants for the in-person segment that will occur later. The online segment must be completed before the in-person class; it will take participants roughly two to three hours to finish. Afterwards, participants will receive a certificate for completing the online exercise.

At the in-person part of the course, an instructor will teach entrants how to conduct CPR, and each participant is expected to complete a full round of CPR training. Participants must show their certificate for the online segment before entry for the in-person class. Printing services can be utilized to produce copies of the certificate.

The in-person segment of the course will take place on January 10, 2021 between 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM. The class will take place at Fitness 120 Health Club on 2192 Route 120. The event organizers recommend completing the online segment two days before the in-person segment. The cost of the whole course will be $108.
